Job opening for a marine/maritime science & technology manager

Ghent University is looking to recruit an entrepreneurial marine/maritime scientist to support the consortium Marine@UGent of the Ghent university and to develop activities in relation to the new Blue Growth focus at the GreenBridge campus in Ostend. 

 
The specific aims are to
(1) to support the execution of a strategic innovation plan and plan of action to increase activities and visibility of Blue Growth activities at GreenBridge campus
(2) to organize networking activities between scientists, SME’s and government (triple helix) in the field of marine, maritime subjects at the Greenbridge campus and
(3) to provide technical support for SME’s in the GreenBridge incubator (link business - knowledge).
The candidate will give technical support to the CEO of GreenBridge incubator and closely collaborate with the scientists of marine@UGent, business developers of the consortia Aquaculture Ghent University and Gen4Wave (blue energy)
The work place will be GreenBridge
The contract will last for 2 years (eventually extendable).
Specific experience and competences:
- Scientific background with experience or strong proven interest in Blue Growth
- Good working knowledge of spoken and written English, good knowledge of French
- Ability to initiate and coordinate networking activities with partners from universities, marine institutes and industry
