As a Project Manager you will be in charge of planning and organizing, facilitation, permitting, consenting and reporting for the Laminaria project.  You will report directly to the CEO and work together with the external partners to meet the deliverables from the company.  You are also responsible to provide on time follow up reports to the grant funding agencies and provide input to the grant funding manager, so they can create the documents needed to apply for new calls.

About Laminaria

Established in 2011 as a private SME, Laminaria is the inventor, owner and developer of its patented wave energy technology. The main focus of the company is to create innovative solutions that offer a higher return on investment and shows increased productivity and survivability compared to the leading technologies in the sector. Since its foundation, the company employed a combination of activities that prioritized experimental proof of concept, focusing its research and development efforts in rapid prototyping, wave tank testing and real in-sea validation of the predicted performance.  Currently Laminaria is undertaking a project to test and demonstrate a commercial scale device at the challenging EMEC test site on Orkney.

The context

As a Project Manager you will be in charge of planning and organizing, facilitation, permitting, consenting and reporting for the Laminaria project.  You will report directly to the CEO and work together with the external partners to meet the deliverables from the company.  You are also responsible to provide on time follow up reports to the grant funding agencies and provide input to the grant funding manager, so they can create the documents needed to apply for new calls. 

The Role

  • Manage progress and delivery of the Laminaria Project to a high standard and to time and budget.
  • Oversee the work of the external Project Team to ensure the delivery of agreed outputs on all aspects of the programme as required
  • Manage reporting calendar and fulfill the report needs for the earned grants
  • Provide input for the grant funding manager
  • Create an inventory on requirements for permitting and consenting as well as writing and submitting the necessary documents and reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Believe in wave and tidal energy
  • 2+ years experience in the renewable energy sector
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and identify priorities
  • Ability to manage work flow and plan/coordinate the work of others to meet deadlines
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work independently and as a team player
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Strong focus on results with an entrepreneurial approach
  • Strong sense of personal and professional accountability
  • Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced and ever changing environment
  • Your English is fluent 

 

Location

  • The position will be based in Orkney (Scotland) for the next 1,5 years.
